Classes
Calendar developed and supported by Kieran O'Shea
Awareness Through Movement sessions are group classes verbally directed by a Feldenkrais® practitioner.
Each class is a set lesson that leads you through a series of movements. During the lesson, you will be lying on a mat, standing upright, sitting in a chair or walking around the room. The lessons gradually increase in complexity, as you are able to move towards more ease and comfort.
The movements are typically very easy, although at times it can be challenging to access a part of your body that you haven’t actively tried to move in a long time.
Students report that after an Awareness Through Movement® class, they feel more upright. They have a stronger sense of their feet, and they are more aware of the feelings in their bodies and of how they move.
"After about three months, I was pain-free in my lower back. I am not sure if I would have progressed as fast as I did by solely participating in Feldenkrais group lessons. The one-on-one awareness program plus following Bryce’s exercises on CD at home at least twice a week, made Feldenkrais a patient-customized, effective experience."
"One day, after working with Bryce for a couple of months, I noticed I was walking more tall, upright and comfortably than I could remember ever walking. It felt natural and effortless.
My posture has improved overall, and I am more aware of how I move, and possibilities for standing, walking, running and moving more comfortably."
